My name is Barbra Jones. I’m a professional freelance writer, blogger and author with over five years of professional writing experience. I specialize in creative writing for fiction, memoir, blogs and podcast show notes. I live in Texas with my husband, two kids and two dogs. My greatest passions are my faith, my family, writing, traveling and researching family history.

Early Inspiration

A refrigerator, magnets and my father inspired my lifelong love of writing. When I was six years old my father worked the night shift. I was in bed when he came home and in school by the time he got up. I missed him so I wrote him stories (complete with pictures) and attached them to the fridge for him to see when he got home. It would be gone the next morning and in its place would be a note telling me how much he loved my story, how he couldn’t wait for the next one, etc.

My love for storytelling and creative writing continued after my father switched back to the day shift and all the way through to this day. After many years spent studying and learning the craft of writing I could finally share my work with the world. Now I enjoy helping others do the same.

Philosophy

My philosophy for writing matches my philosophy for life. Do for others what I would want done for me. I wouldn’t write something I wouldn’t be willing to read and enjoy myself. Nor would I produce work for a client that would be less than the standards I strive for in my own work. I understand how important your book, blog or show notes are to you because I feel the same way about mine.
